Afshar appears in Fajr-nominated film

Iranian actress Mahnaz Afshar has taken part in ‘The Unrest’ movie, which is set to vie in the main competition section of Iran’s Fajr Film Festival.

A photo has been released recently showing Afshar in her new look for ‘The Unrest’. 

Fereydoun Jeyrani, the film’s director said “’The Unrest’ is not realistic and social. It is a movie about love and crime…"

The movie is the third collaboration project between Afshar and Jeyrani. Bahram Radan and Mehran Ahmadi have also participated in the flick.

'The Unrest' will premiere in the 37th edition of Fajr Film Festival, which is set to kick off on January 30, 2019, and will run until February 11 in the capital Tehran.

The festival coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies across Iran, marking the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.

This is while, the international version of the Fajr Film Festival will be held in April 2019.
